Well, May certainly has proven to be the busiest month of the year thus far. Full of thunderstorms, a teething baby, weddings and family events. So, why not throw in a Sunday BBQ with the grandparents? First off, grandparents are always welcome – especially now that they are GREAT grandparents. Secondly…who turns down BBQ?
If you ever stop by our house, no matter the occasion, my husband will most likely give you a big hug, drag the puppies to the backyard so they don’t trample you, fix you a drink and then do his favorite thing – take you on a tour. It’s so sweet to hear him explain all the details of what I’ve done and fun to hear the pride beaming in his voice as he says, “we found this at an antique store.” – Oh ya, best husband ever. He loves the great finds almost as much as I do! – So, I’ve taken a cue from my hubby the past couple weeks and have been leading my Instagram family on a tour of my home (sorry, no drinks!). This was never meant to be a blog post but as I took these pictures day after day and told the stories of whats created this house I realized there was so much more to share than what I was able to post in fleeting Instagram moments. So, here are my favorite Instagram moments including all the details. Hope you enjoy this house we have made into our home – we sure do!
I don’t know about you but I am much more of a visual/try it on my own type of learner. I also love all things DIY, baking, cooking, etc. The sad truth is, the majority of the instructional info for these types of activities are just written & photographed – not videod. Which means there is a lot of trial and error until I finally get things the way I have in my head. How much easier it would be if someone could show me and give me tips along the way! And so it begins, Video My Pin. Video My Pin is my ongoing series here on this little blog where I invite anyone and everyone to send me a Pin and get a free video tutorial in return. I’ll do most anything aside from knitting & crocheting projects – mostly because those take way more time than I’m willing to commit at the moment 🙂
As mentioned in my Tea Cup & Martini Glass Flower Centerpieces post, the hubs was having a poker night and I just couldn’t help myself – I needed to cook, bake and entertain! Plus, I justified it all by saying it was practice for a big future game night or casino themed party. I mean, who can resist a theme?
As promised, here is the tutorial to create the adorbs tea cup floral centerpieces as seen in the “A Garden Party Bridal Shower” post. Now, I must give credit where credit is due! I had never worked with flower foam until my best friend’s mom introduced me to it to make those tea cup flower arrangements for the bridal shower…and I am ADDICTED! She also taught me a lot about the best way to tackle something like this so thank you!
Ah, Spring time in Texas. That special time when it goes from 30 to 80 degrees in a 48 hour period, everyone is sick and the pollen count is at an all time high. But aside from these selling points – Spring is, in all seriousness, a gorgeous time of year and one of my favorites (nothing can beat Fall).
