Unless you have cooling misters and a plethora of mosquito repellent you most likely won’t find me outside in the summer evenings here in Texas unless I’m neck-deep in the pool. But Spring? Spring is my friend. Those April showers keep the temps down to a bearable warmth and the mosquitos haven’t multiplied by the thousands quite yet (granted if there is even one it will find me). So, since we are a family that enjoys the outdoors, you will find us outside quite a bit this time of year. And that calls for a little date night by the pool!
The moment we walked into our backyard we knew we were in love with this house. And justly so, we have spent many a nights in this very spot with family and friends. This is not our outdoor dining table but rather an arbor area right beside the pool where we have a small seating area set up. I chose to set this coffee table up as our actual dining table.
Almost everything about this tablesetting was an impulse purchase. Woops! But totally worth it right? Even the flowers were a last-minute addition to my cart at Sprouts. But how could I pass up on these beautiful sunflowers?
And there was obviously no way I could pass on these little tropical bird napkin rings at Pier1…even though I was just there for napkins. Woops again!
He’s so sweet he needed his own napkin nest! Don’t you think? Easy as pie. Just fold once, then accordion (flipping between top and bottom as you fold) then put napkin ring to center and fan out each side. This is a fun option is you’re just planning to use one plate and therefore not doing the fun stacking thing.
And I couldn’t pass up on my sweet mini cacti – aka “the impulse purchase from Home Depot.” Woops! I love how they look once transferred to these mini mason jars. And even though it’s just the two of us there’s something extra special about seeing “momma” and “daddy” on a place card 🙂 Maybe it’s cause Mother’s Day is coming up but I think I’ll enjoy seeing those words being meant for me always.
